Wind Meter for Your Smartphone
The Vaavud Mjolnir is a small wind speed meter for your smartphone, useful for kiting, winging, windsurfing, paragliding and paddling. It measures wind with a two-cup rotor and internal magnets.
The app shows a real-time wind graph plus current, average and maximum speed in the units you choose (m/s, km/h, knots, mph, Bft). It stores your measurements, and a map shows readings from other users. The meter plugs into your smartphone's 3.5 mm headphone jack. If your phone has no headphone jack, you need a headphone adapter.
Benefits
- Measures wind speed from 1 to 25 m/s.
- Two-cup rotor with magnets.
- Real-time graph, average and maximum.
- Units m/s, km/h, knots, mph, Bft.
- Measurement history and map.
- Small enough for a pocket.
Material and Care
The meter is small and light, so it fits in a bag or jacket pocket. Wipe it with a dry cloth after use by the sea.
