Organic Cotton T-Shirts for Everyday Wear, Travel and Summer
An organic cotton T-shirt is made from cotton grown without synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers or genetically modified seeds. It feels soft, breathable and comfortable on the skin, so you can wear it all day, from your morning coffee to an evening by the water. It's a sustainable choice for anyone who loves natural fabrics.
Our range includes short sleeve T-shirts made from 180 GSM organic cotton in a relaxed unisex fit. They're pre-washed, so they won't shrink in the wash, and come plain with a small logo or with a print on the front and back. You'll also find a classic plain cotton tee with no print.
What Is Organic Cotton?
Organic cotton is grown in fields where no synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used, and farmers plant seeds that aren't genetically modified. The soil is kept healthy with crop rotation and natural fertilisers. The plants are mostly rain-fed, so growing it draws less water from rivers and groundwater than conventional cotton.
- For the environment – fewer chemicals in the soil and water.
- For your skin – a natural fibre with no synthetic blends.
- For farmers – no contact with toxic sprays.
Organic vs Conventional Cotton – What's the Difference?
| Organic cotton | Conventional cotton | |
|---|---|---|
| Pesticides and fertilisers | no synthetic ones | synthetic |
| Seeds | not genetically modified | often genetically modified |
| Water use | mostly rainwater | often irrigated |
| Feel on the skin | soft, breathable | soft, breathable |
An organic tee looks and feels just like a regular cotton tee. The difference is in how the cotton is grown and in its smaller environmental footprint.
When Should I Wear an Organic Cotton T-Shirt?
| Activity | Organic cotton tee |
|---|---|
| Everyday and in town | great choice + comfortable all day |
| Summer heat (sitting, strolling) | breathable + pleasant on the skin |
| Travel | a tee for the city, the plane and dinner |
| Beach and by the water | good while you're dry |
| Hiking, running, cycling (lots of sweat) | a performance tee is better |
Cotton breathes well and absorbs moisture, but it dries slowly. When you sweat a lot or come out of the water, a wet cotton tee stays damp for a long time and chills you. For sport and hiking, choose a performance T-shirt that dries fast. For days on the water and in the sun, rash guards and UV shirts are a better fit, including styles made from recycled fibres.
Fabric Weight: Light or Heavy T-Shirt?
GSM (grams per square metre) tells you how heavy the fabric is.
- Up to 150 GSM – a thin, light tee for hot days, but less durable.
- 150–200 GSM – a midweight tee that's breathable and durable. Our organic tees are 180 GSM.
- Over 200 GSM – a heavyweight tee that holds its shape longer but feels warmer in the heat.
Women's, Men's and Unisex Organic T-Shirts
Our organic tees have a relaxed unisex fit worn by women and men. Men can take their usual size. Women who prefer a closer fit should size down once. Sizes run from XS to XXL. Check the measurements in the size chart on each product, or try them on in our shop in Ljubljana.
A T-Shirt for Sensitive Skin
Cotton is a natural fibre that doesn't trap heat like synthetics and feels soft on the skin. That's why people with sensitive skin often find it more comfortable than polyester tees. Because our organic tees are pre-washed, you can wear them straight away, though for the softest feel you can wash them once more before first wear.
Who Are Organic Cotton T-Shirts For?
- anyone who loves natural fabrics,
- people looking for sustainable tees with fewer chemicals in their clothing,
- travellers who want a comfortable tee for the city and the road,
- fans of simple, plain tees without big prints,
- anyone who'd rather have one good everyday tee than three poor ones.
How to Care for an Organic Cotton T-Shirt
Wash it at 30 °C with similar colours, inside out, without fabric softener or bleach. Air dry it or tumble dry on low heat. That way it keeps its colour, shape and softness for longer.
