Women's 5/4 Chest Zip Wetsuit for Winter Water
The O'Neill Epic 5/4 is a women's winter wetsuit for water of about 8 to 11 °C. The chest zip (sometimes called a front zip) lets in less water than a back zip, which matters in winter.
100% UltraFlex, GBS seams and a FluidFlex Firewall lining hold the warmth. O'Neill's precise women's cut hugs the body, so cold water does not circulate inside.
Who Is the Women's Epic 5/4 For?
The women's Epic 5/4 is for women who head out on the water even in winter.
We recommend it for:
- surfers for winter surf
- kitesurfers and wing foilers in cold months
- SUP paddlers on winter tours
- anyone who wants a warm chest zip winter wetsuit
Women's Epic 5/4 Benefits
Warm in winter
5 mm on the torso and a thermal lining for 8–11 °C water.
Less water inside
The chest zip lets in less water than a back zip.
No wind through the suit
FluidFlex Firewall blocks the wind.
Seams that do not leak
Glued, blind-stitched GBS seams.
Women's cut
Follows and hugs the female figure.
Why choose a chest zip wetsuit for winter?
A chest zip has a short zip across the chest, so less water gets into the women's Epic 5/4 than through a back zip. In winter, that means you stay warm longer.
Material and Technology
The Epic is made from 100% UltraFlex with GBS seams (glued and blind-stitched) and a FluidFlex Firewall lining that blocks wind and wicks water away from the skin.
The lower back is seamless, Krypto pads cover the knees and there is an external key pocket. For winter, add wetsuit boots, gloves and a hood.

Comparison: Reactor 2 vs Epic vs Hyperfreak
The lines differ in material and build quality. Reactor 2 is a quality, affordable wetsuit with flatlock seams. Epic steps up with 100% UltraFlex and glued, blind-stitched seams.
Hyperfreak is O'Neill's premium line: the stretchiest, most comfortable TechnoButter neoprene that keeps its shape, for anyone who spends a lot of time on the water.
Material and Care
Rinse in fresh water after use and dry inside out in the shade. Do not store it damp.
