O’Neill Reactor 2 2 mm shorty wetsuit in black is an excellent choice for summer and autumn water activities. It is suitable for water temperatures between 18 and 20°C, offering comfort and flexibility during warmer sessions.
The wetsuit is made from O’Neill Ultraflex DS neoprene, which is extremely stretchable and therefore very easy to put on. Despite its high elasticity, the material is durable and maintains its shape even after repeated use, without becoming loose or overstretched.
High-Performance Fit and Cut
O’Neill is well known for its precise wetsuit cuts, which are essential for proper performance. A wetsuit must fit the body closely to function effectively, and the Reactor 2 shorty is designed to adapt perfectly to your shape.
The suit creates a thin layer of water between your skin and the neoprene, which your body quickly warms up, helping to maintain thermal comfort during use.
Back Zip Design for Easy Entry
The O’Neill Reactor 2 shorty features a back zip, making it quick and easy to put on and take off. A long pull cord allows you to close the zipper independently, without assistance.
A Velcro closure at the back of the neck helps prevent cold water from flushing through the zipper, improving overall warmth and comfort.
Smoothskin Wind Protection
One of the key features of the O’Neill Reactor wetsuit is the Smoothskin neoprene paneling on the chest and back. This rubberized surface allows water to run off easily while providing excellent protection against wind chill.
Smoothskin is strategically placed on the torso to keep the body’s core warmer, as these areas require the most protection. While Smoothskin is more sensitive to damage than lined neoprene, it is used only where flexibility is less critical.
Shorty wetsuits are ideal for warm-weather water sports, while a full-length wetsuit is better suited for extending your season into colder conditions.
Neoprene Technology
Ultraflex DS is O’Neill’s super-stretch neoprene with a stretch factor of up to 150%. It features a durable outer layer that resists damage from Velcro or fingernails.
Single-lined Smoothskin neoprene is not covered with a fabric lining on the outside, allowing water to drain quickly and offering superior wind protection compared to standard neoprene.
