O'Neill Explore 1 mm Wetsuit Gloves for Grip and Protection

The O'Neill Explore are durable 1 mm wetsuit gloves made from Fluid Foam neoprene, built primarily for hand protection and grip in kitesurf, SUP, surf and wing foil. The reinforced palm shields your hands from cuts, scratches and rough surfaces, while a Velcro wrist strap reduces water entry and locks in the fit. At 1 mm they stay thin enough that you keep a real feel for your gear.

Who are the O'Neill Explore 1 mm gloves for?

These neoprene gloves suit anyone who mainly needs hand protection and sensitivity rather than maximum warmth — paddlers gripping a paddle, riders on a bar, and anyone prone to blisters. At 1 mm they are a warm-weather and mild-conditions glove. If warmth is your priority, choose the thicker O'Neill Psycho Tech 1.5 mm or 3 mm gloves instead.

O'Neill Explore glove benefits

  • 1 mm thickness keeps excellent feel and control of your equipment
  • Velcro wrist strap reduces water entry and secures the fit
  • Fluid Foam neoprene with a 75% stretch factor for durability
  • Five sizes for a precise fit

Material and care

The Explore gloves use Fluid Foam, O'Neill's highly durable neoprene with a 75% stretch factor. It is slightly less elastic than O'Neill's other materials and is used where durability matters more than maximum stretch. Rinse the gloves in lukewarm fresh water after every session and dry them in the shade, away from direct sun and heat. For full cold-water coverage, pair them with wetsuit boots and wetsuit hoods.
