SUP board leash is essential safety equipment
The Gladiator Origin SUP leash is a coiled leash, making it ideal for paddling on flat water and for faster SUP sessions. Its spiral, spring-like design keeps the leash resting on the surface of the board instead of trailing behind in the water.
This reduces unnecessary drag and prevents the leash from getting in the way while moving around on the board. The SUP leash attaches to the D-ring at the tail of the board, while the other end features a soft, comfortable neoprene cuff with Velcro.
The cuff can be secured around the ankle or just below the knee, depending on personal preference.
On both ends, the leash features swivels that prevent twisting and tangling, ensuring unrestricted movement while paddling.
Do I really need a SUP board leash?
Every paddleboarder should know what a SUP leash is, as it is considered mandatory safety equipment for stand up paddling.
A SUP leash is not just an accessory, but an essential safety item. In extreme situations, it can make a critical difference between safety and serious danger. This is not an exaggeration.
A SUP leash can save your life
No matter how confident you are on your board, external conditions are always unpredictable. A single moment of lost balance can put you in the water.
With strong wind or current, there is a high chance that your inflatable SUP board can quickly drift out of reach.
When you are connected to your board with a leash, you significantly increase the chances of keeping the board close, getting back onto it, or catching it in challenging conditions.
Sometimes we find ourselves far from shore, where swimming back without a board would require a lot of energy, especially in difficult conditions.
Even if swimming in open water sounds tempting, never remove your leash.
A SUP leash is mandatory equipment for good reason.
