Racing Impeller for a Faster, Sharper eFoil

The Mercury Racing impeller is a racing impeller for Flite eFoils with Flite Jet 2 (Jet C) propulsion, developed by Flite together with Mercury Racing. It is built for riders who want a higher top speed and sharper control. The same impeller comes standard on the Flite RACE.

The impeller is the rotor inside the enclosed jet housing: it draws water in and pushes it out through the nozzle, doing the job a propeller does on a prop drive. The RACE impeller is designed to be most efficient at high speeds.

The stock impeller is perfect for everyday riding. When you want more speed or a race around the buoys, swap in the RACE impeller – no other changes to the jet needed. Find more Flite upgrades among our eFoil accessories.

Who Is the Mercury Racing Impeller For?

The Mercury Racing impeller is designed for owners of Flite Jet 2 eFoils who are already confident on the board and want more speed.

We recommend it for:

  • experienced eFoilers chasing a higher top speed
  • riders who mostly ride flat water and love fast, carved turns
  • racers and friends who set up buoys and time their laps
  • Flite RACE owners who want a spare impeller on hand

For your first hours on an eFoil, the stock Jet 2 impeller is the better choice.

Is the RACE Impeller Compatible with My Fliteboard?

The RACE impeller fits Flite Jet 2 / Jet C propulsion, including the MN Carbon Jet C. It is not compatible with the first-generation Flite Jet (Jet 1) or with propeller drives, so check which propulsion your eFoil has before ordering.

Mercury Racing Impeller Benefits

Higher top speed
The RACE impeller is optimised for high speeds. With it, the Flite RACE reaches up to 55 km/h (34 mph) – a figure for the complete RACE setup (board, mast, wings and battery).

Sharper acceleration, bigger power steps
Fewer gear changes through Virtual Gears, with a bigger step of power in each one. Acceleration is sharper and water flow through the jet is smoother.

Precise control at speed
Designed for razor-sharp control as the board slices through the water – in turns and on long straights.

Drop-in upgrade
Only the impeller changes; the rest of your Jet 2 stays the same. All you need is a 13 mm socket and a cloth.

Race-grade aluminium
Precision CNC-machined, red anodised aluminium – the same part that powers the Flite RACE.

How to Install the RACE Impeller on Flite Jet 2?

You can swap the impeller on Flite Jet 2 yourself in six steps with a 13 mm socket and a cloth:

  • unscrew the nozzle from the jet assembly,
  • hold the impeller firmly with a cloth,
  • loosen and remove the impeller nut with the 13 mm socket,
  • pull the impeller off the shaft carefully so you don't damage internal parts,
  • remove the pin from the shaft – turn it horizontal first so it doesn't fall out when you reinstall,
  • fit the pin, slide the RACE impeller onto the shaft and reassemble in reverse order.

Before riding, check that the impeller spins freely and all fittings are tight.

Why Choose Flite x Mercury Racing?

Mercury Racing has spent more than five decades building propulsion systems for speed on the water. Together with Flite – part of the same Brunswick group – it engineered the RACE impeller for the fastest Fliteboard yet.

When the collaboration started, Mercury's head of engineering told the Flite team: "We've got the best guy in the world." The result is an impeller that brings Mercury Racing know-how into the Flite jet.
