High Aspect Carbon Front Wing for Maximum Glide
The AXIS Fireball is a series of ultra high aspect carbon wings for riders who want maximum speed, endless glide, and efficiency. These high aspect front wings feature an aspect ratio of approximately 13, designed for those seeking exceptional performance in downwind, wing, and pump foiling.
The wing profile is based on an entirely new foil section with high camber, which provides exceptional lift at lower speeds while maintaining minimal drag at high speeds. Combined with Ultra High Modulus carbon construction, the AXIS Fireball front wing achieves a level of efficiency that was until recently reserved for racing foils.
The result is a front wing that takes off easier, glides longer, and pumps faster than its predecessors – without any sense of instability or difficult control. Even after touching down, recovery back onto foil is surprisingly effortless.
Long downwind runs without exhaustion. Record times on flatwater courses. More waves connected. The AXIS Fireball is the front wing for those who want to foil faster, longer, and more efficiently.
Who Is AXIS Fireball For?
The AXIS Fireball front wing is designed for riders who have already mastered the basics of foiling and want to elevate their efficiency and speed to a new level.
We recommend it for:
- Downwind riders for longer and faster runs with less effort
- Wing foil riders for easier starts and greater speed range
- All riders who want to connect more waves and make faster turns
- Riders who want to reduce wing area without losing lift
- Advanced riders seeking competition-level performance
Comparison: Fireball vs ART V2 vs Tempo
The AXIS Fireball (AR ~13) is an ultra high aspect front wing for riders who want maximum speed, efficient pumping, and exceptional glide – with surprisingly easy handling for such a high aspect ratio. For riders seeking a more forgiving and versatile character, we recommend the ART V2 (AR ~10). For those who want an even higher aspect ratio and are ready for a more demanding wing character, the next step is the Tempo (AR ~15).
AXIS Fireball Benefits
Maximum Speed and Glide
The ultra high aspect shape (AR ~13) minimizes drag and enables faster runs with less effort. The AXIS Fireball front wing glides longer and accelerates easier than traditional high aspect wings.
Exceptional Lift at Lower Speeds
The new foil section with high camber enables easier takeoff and earlier lift – even with smaller front wing sizes.
Easy Recovery After Touchdown
The pitch stability of AXIS Fireball wings allows riders to recover back onto foil with relatively little effort after touching down – a rarity among ultra high aspect wings.
Smaller Area Without Compromise
Riders can choose approximately 200 cm² less area than traditional wings, without losing lift or stability – meaning even less drag and more speed.
Ultra High Modulus Carbon Construction
Thin, narrow high aspect wings demand maximum stiffness – UHM carbon ensures the front wing maintains its shape and responsiveness even under the highest loads.
Wide Speed Range
The AXIS Fireball front wing performs stable and predictable at both low and high speeds – enabling use in various conditions and disciplines.
Compatibility with Smaller Stabilizers
The pitch stability of AXIS Fireball wings allows the use of one or two sizes smaller Skinny rear wings, further reducing drag and increasing speed.
Technology
The AXIS Fireball is based on an entirely new foil section that combines high camber for maximum lift with low drag for high speeds. This is a combination that was until recently technically difficult to achieve – high camber typically means more drag and lower top speed.
AXIS solved this with an optimized profile and an aspect ratio of approximately 13, placing the Fireball front wing among the most advanced high aspect wings on the market. The median line is straight, and the shape tapers toward the tips – reducing drag and enabling smooth, predictable turns.
The entire construction is made from Ultra High Modulus carbon (UHM), which ensures maximum stiffness and responsiveness. With such narrow, thin wings with large span, stiffness is critical – any flex means loss of energy and control. UHM carbon allows riders to extract the full potential of the foil section from tip to tip.
