SUP Trolleys – Get Your Board to the Water Without Carrying It

A SUP trolley is a lightweight cart with wheels that you strap an inflated or hard SUP board onto, so you can wheel it from the car to the water instead of carrying it. It saves your energy for paddling, especially when there's a long walk, sand or a hill to the beach. Even kids can bring the board down to the water.

Our range includes an upright trolley that holds the board on its rail and a flat trolley with off-road wheels that you can also tow behind a bike. The wheels on both have no inner tube, so they can't get a puncture.

Upright or Flat SUP Trolley?

An upright trolley is great when the water is a few hundred metres away along a proper path. A flat trolley is the better choice for wide family boards, longer distances and rough terrain.

SUP Trolley Wheels

The wheels decide where you can use your trolley.

  • Small wheels (around 20 cm) – light and compact, for tarmac, gravel and pavements.
  • Large off-road wheels (around 35 cm) – roll over kerbs, stones and sand more easily.
  • Tubeless wheels – for example in EVA foam, so there's nothing to pump up and no punctures.

SUP Trolleys for the Beach

Soft sand is the toughest surface for any trolley. On a sandy beach, choose a flat trolley with large, wide wheels that sink in less. Pull the trolley behind you rather than pushing it, and strap the board down firmly so it doesn't shift. On pebble and rocky beaches, like many along the Adriatic, the difference between small and large wheels is even bigger.

SUP Trolleys for Cycling

A flat trolley with a handle that attaches to your bike's seat post lets you tow your SUP by bike to a remote bay or lake. Ride slowly and avoid sharp turns, as the board is long and swings out on corners. Before you set off, check that the straps are tight and the board doesn't touch your rear wheel.

Can I Use a SUP Trolley for a Kayak?

Our trolleys are made for SUP and surf boards. A kayak is narrower and taller than a SUP, so it needs a trolley with supports that cradle it on both sides. You can use a flat trolley for a small inflatable kayak if you strap it down securely. For heavy hard-shell kayaks, choose a trolley made specifically for kayaks.

How to Strap a SUP onto a Trolley

  1. Inflate the board to the recommended pressure first, as a soft board flexes on the trolley.
  2. On an upright trolley, stand the board on its rail with the nose forward. On a flat trolley, lay it with the fin facing up.
  3. Position the trolley just behind the middle of the board so the weight is balanced and you can hold it by the nose or handle.
  4. Secure the board with the strap and tighten it well.

Who Is a SUP Trolley For?

  • families with large, heavy boards,
  • paddlers who head out on their own,
  • anyone with a long walk to the water from the car park, campsite or holiday apartment,
  • paddlers who cycle to the water,
  • anyone whose back or shoulders hurt from carrying a board.

How to Care for a SUP Trolley

After use on the beach, rinse the trolley with fresh water to remove salt and sand from the axle and wheels. Dry it and store it somewhere dry. Check the axle now and then and clean out any sand so the wheels keep turning freely.
